Wanna be free?
I was reading this morning in John’s gospel, chapter 8. I came on a portion that I have read many times before, but which struck me differently this time. It’s verses 31 and 32: “To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, ‘If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.’”
There seems to be a progression here that tells us something important. First, “If you hold to my teaching.” That’s the NIV, and the NASB says “If you abide in my word.” In either case, it is telling us something about living – spending extended time – in the teaching of Jesus, and obeying that teaching. It’s about learning who He is and what He is about by living in his teaching and letting it live in us.
Then He continues, however, and continues the same sentence, saying, “If you live in my teaching, you are really my disciples.” We might understand this two ways. First, if we live in his word, the outcome will be that we will become his followers. Or, the fact of our living in his word is evidence that we are indeed his followers. Both are true.
Then, an additional outcome is that if we abide in his word, and live as his followers, we will know the truth. Truth – ultimate truth – is found in only one place: in the place where we can learn of the One who is Truth. So now, our progression tells us that if we live in his teaching, we will be his followers, and we will know the truth.
Finally, the outcome of following him and knowing the truth is that we are set free. In this passage, the next portion has his listeners responding to him that they are Abraham’s children and have never been slaves of anyone. Jesus passes over the obvious point that these people were in fact living under Roman domination, and had limited freedom. Their protestation is loaded with irony. However, Jesus says to them that they are, indeed, in bondage, though their master is not Rome or any man, but their own sin.
So now we can see the full progression: As we live in the words of Jesus, we become his followers; as we follow him, we learn the truth, because He is Truth, and as we know the truth, we are set free.
Hallelujah!

Yes, from sin,....you got it Larry--Wow!
I thank God for you today!
So I wanted to share this:
There's a man of God I esteem highly who helped me , through his book, to see what Great a Salvation Jesus did for me to evenually 'walk out' in my daily life!
But, with all my new found pain, I could not have heard this man's book, without first having been Born-Again by God's Spirit. In Milton Green's book I read many pages which pointed me right to The Lord of The Scriptures, through The Word of God, which landed me in the Arms of Jesus to choose Him above my sins. It was my choice to deny what The Lord had done to me in giving me His Salvation or in my pain, to chose the ways of world in sin again. Henry Blackaby calls it moments of 'crisis.'
In respect I write this:
" When you refuse to speak any words against your neighbor, you are putting to death the flesh and you are ceasing from sin. When you are reviled, persecuted and insulted, you speak blessings. You put to death the deeds of the flesh by resisting the flesh. You are dying to the ways of Satan and your mind is being renewed, because you are choosing to have the mind of Christ. You prove you love the nature of God more than the nature of the devil. Your heart believes unto righteousness."

My son, once upon a time, when he was just 3 1/2 years old was kidnapped from me by his father. His Arab father. I could have been that "Mother-Bear" but God had other plans for me to free me from 'the world, the flesh and the devil.' It was hard to bless this man, when my heart ached for my son. But, by the Grace of God, as I died to many kinds of sins (of how many ways I wanted to strangle this guy and take my son back) in Christ which sometimes seemed like each minute of each waking moment in each day. Then as I would, In His Grace of empowerment, God would cleanse me just a little bit more to have His Nature to come out and for His Peace and Trust In Him to abide within me, removing little by little those enemies on my heart land of sin. Each day was an abiding in Christ or I would have gone to kill this arab man---this Syrian man I might add. But this man was NOT 'connie's' problem, sin on my heart land was, as Larry mentions about John 8.
Many of Jesus' Word's had to be Life for my heart, and I had to believe Christ' Words or be more in torment over my own sins through my painful times at that time. If I hadn't had, by the Grace of God, believed Christ' Words that needed to abide in me by Faith I would be in prison right now or since it's been over 16 years now I might have met the death penalty already and been dead for my crime that my heart-of sin so wanted to do.
But Jesus got THE WHOLE VICTORY in His Righteousness of how He wanted `Connie` to live.
Blessings.
And to say "In His Love," is not just words to me it has become my Testimony.
In His Love,
Connie

This bondage Jesus is talking about, is not our willfull sin. That would be freedom to choose, and not bondage.Bondage is not having any choice at all,to be a slave of it.It leads and you serve it.What he is talking about is our genetic inherited sin from the corrupters. After the flood, Noah still had to make Atonement. Why? Because Noah was just as crossbred as everyone else.Noah lived by the ways of the Lord, and because of his FAITH in following God.It saved him and his family.Later on, we see the evil nature come out in Noah's son Ham.I remember reading about the prophet Samual.Samual spent his entire life serving God,from a baby on up.What I could not understand was.How could such dirt bags son's,could come from such a good holy man.I could figure out how King saul sined.Only a priest could make a sin offering to God. And I could understand the reason why God came down so hard on King Saul, was to show the importance of this law.If only a High Priest can make a sin offering.Than no one else could be blamed for the death of Jesus Christ. But for years I could not understand how such wicked sons could come from good. Then one day reading revelation 12, I got my first smell of it.Remember past, present, future. The woman cried out in pain about to give birth.Saten waited for the child to be born so he could eat it.God heard the womans cry.Saten stands trial in the Court of Heaven.A flood of lies come out of Saten's mouth. The earth Eve's truthfullness and evidence, the child, swallow up all Saten's lies. The rebellous angels that worship Saten. They try overtake Heaven, but are overtaken and cast out. Many also leave on thier own because of lust for women. When we read God's word we see how short we come to his comandments. We then relize we are failing. And no matter how hard we try, we still fail. Its only now that we see how important Jesus is to our salvation.Behavior modifacation can not change the genetic make up of a person. That's like saying you can change the color of your skin by following the ten comanments.Sooner or later the flesh is going to overpower the will. Some people are born with a more pronounced sin nature than others. But we all have it in our flesh. And because we need flesh to contain the spirit, that makes us, the sole, it's slave. The flesh is the wall between us and God.

Jesus said, Before you where born, I knew you. When you in your mothers womb and her water broke, as soon as you took your first breath of air on earth, you left Heaven, and are born into the world. Now you didn't enter the world, like the space shuttle would, or as an adult like a angel would.Every person except one, that ever lived on earth, had a mother and father who copulated. The mothers unfertial egg, became fertile, from the male seed. This fertial egg grows into a embryo, and feeds off the mother for nine months, untill we are born into the world.
Jesus said, Greater is in you, than is in the whole world.Every person on earth, has the spirit of god in them. The only way I can explain this spirit, is to liken it, to the unfertile egg inside women. If your male or female its still unfertile female spirit.God is male spirit. And he wants to impregnate you with his Holy Spirit. But, because the flesh is corrupt the Holy Spirit can not enter into us.This is where Jesus comes into our lives, to make Holy, the unholy. You see how our spirit is captive by the flesh. It wants to get out, and go to the father, but the flesh stops it, because its unholy.Likewise the Holy Spirit wants to enter into us,but cant, because of the flesh is unholy. When we eat the body of Christ, and drink the blood of Christ, and give ourshelves over to him, He makes our flesh Holy.If you really believe, surrender yourshelf over to Him. Stop thinking just by following the comandments, and going to church is all you need.Stop yourshelf, because you cant, no matter how hard or long you try.If your parents never copulated on earth, you would not be here in this world. If you dont atone (copulate) with the Father how are you going into the next. But first, you have to stop trying to make yourshelf Holy, Only Jesus can. Then the Holy Spirit will impregnate you.It will never happen untill, you truely understand, that only Jesus Christ can make you flesh pure.
When this Spirit comes upon you, Your body will have a real physical reactions from it,like a kicking in your stomach. It learns and lives inside you, just like a baby inside a mother, Only its not someone else, its you. When your flesh is cercumsized, you will leave it.Your spirit will break the earths fermament, like the mothers water, and be born into Heaven. Jesus says. No man enters Heaven except as a child.
