Theology WebSite's
    Privacy Policy

Introduction

Please believe us when we say we take the issue of your privacy very seriously and we have always striven to the best of our ability behaviorally and technologically to ensure that any information you have entrusted to TheologyWebsite is neither abused nor neglectfully made available to those who might. Below you will find an outline of the extent to which TheologyWebsite collects information and the manners in which this information is used and protected.

Ways in Which TheologyWebsite Collects Information

  • E-mail Newsletter Subscriptions

TheologyWebsite accepts voluntary subscription of personal e-mail addresses for purposes of our periodic e-mail newsletter. These e-mail addresses are automatically stored in a database and as such are not accessible to external 'robots' or 'spiders' which regularly search the web for potential spam recipients. Thus subscribing an e-mail address to TheologyWebsite does NOT result in receiving unwanted spam from other sources. Persons whose e-mail addresses are currently subscribed and who wish to discontinue their subscription may do so at any time by utilizing our Online Unsubscription Service. Whereas TheologyWebsite and Quodlibet Journal are sister sites sharing a single newsletter and single subscriber database, it may appear as if your e-mail address has been "shared" with Quodlibet Journal.

  • Discussion Forum

Our Discussion Forum requires new users to "register" with the forum before being allowed to post topics or replies. We have set up the forum to require a valid e-mail address to which critical Forum information (such as forgotten password) will be sent when needed. This collected e-mail address is used only to assist in facilitating Forum help and is not used for correspondence from TheologyWebsite in any other capacity. Registered users are provided a "Profile" through which they may voluntarily provide or detract personal information at any time. The Profile also allows registered Forum users to opt out of receiving e-mails from Forum administrators. Information provided by the user through Forum registration is in no way shared with other parties. Registered users wishing to *completely* remove their information from the Forum may do so at any time by deleting their Forum registration. This will result in the permanent deletion of all personal information, including the registration e-mail address, from TheologyWebsite's Forum databases.

  • Online Donations Form

Individuals donating to TheologyWebsite through our Online Donation Form are obviously asked for sensitive financial or personal information. For this reason TheologyWebsite has elected to use PayPal.com. (Click here for PayPal's Security Information.) All transactions through our Donation Form are highly secured and insured. All information submitted is encrypted through a secured connection to Paypal and is not stored at any time on either TheologyWebsite or the open Internet. Information collected through the Donations Process is in no way shared with other parties, including unsolicited use by PayPal.com.

Ways in Which TheologyWebsite Uses Collected Information

TheologyWebsite uses collected information ONLY in the manners outlined above.

Ways in Which TheologyWebsite Shares Collected Information

Under No circumstance will TheologyWebsite share any collected information with a third party. TheologyWebsite has not shared any information at any time in the past, nor will it in the present or future.

Ways in Which TheologyWebsite Uses "Cookies"

TheologyWebsite's Discussion Forum will by default use "cookie" technology to store and later retreive non-personal information from its online visitors. The information stored is limited to the Time and Date of the most recent visit (for purpose of displaying "new" posts since the user's last visit) and the user's chosen Forum Username (for purposes of displaying the user as "currently in the forum" without requiring him/her to Log In first). Through the user's Forum Profile, any user may elect to remove and/or disallow Forum Cookies. Doing so will not interupt the overall function of the Forum (though it will disable the Forum's ability to produce the functions mentioned above). No personal information is stored on such cookies nor is this information used for any other purposes or functions.
