Proposition: Our understanding and experience of the gospel compels us to witness
in the face of opposition by the world.
Introduction
I. The World Opposes the Gospel (vv. 27-28)

1. Out of hardness of heart: despite evidence

b. angel's intervention from prison [5:19-21])
2. Out of desire for the success of other views (5:17 = filled with jealousy)
3. Out of fear or denial of guilt ("this man's blood"; cf. Mt 27:25)

II. Our Salvation Compels Us to Witness (vv. 29-32)
A. Because of the historical event (v. 30-31)
1. Continuity: (the God of our fathers)
2. Unjust Crucifixion: (raised Jesus whom you killed by hanging on a tree.

3. Resurrection: (God exalted him at his right hand as Leader and Savior)
4. Salvation: (to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.)
